NOTE: Co-ed Flag registration has reached capacity and it now closed for the 2019 season.
The co-ed flag program is a non-contact game that promotes skill development, cardio training and mental strategy. Flag Football is a sport easily adapted any age, any ability and both males and females. It is one of the fastest growing sports being played in Canada with competition extending internationally.
Flag is for U14 players, or players who will turn 8 to 13 years old this calendar year.
The program will try and get started on Wednnesday May 1 and will finish June 22. Practices will be every Wednesday from 630pm - 8:00pm and "games" will be every Saturday from 11:30am - 1:00pm. All events will be at Millenium Field.
The season fee includes a mouthguard, a t-shirt, and all team sessions. Additional fees include the Football Canada National Registration Fee, replacement mouthguards and any individual fundraising the team chooses to undertake (parents have a say here).

I wanted to drop you all an initial email and welcome you to the Cumberland Panthers. New to our club this year is the flag program. After witnessing Flag Football be successful around the city and around the province we felt it best to add the it to our grassroots program.
Flag will be all about learning the game from a skills player perspective. We will focus on running, passing and catching. All of our coaches are highly trained and have a wealth of experience both coaching and playing.
Although we will have different age groups during our skills and competition phase we will practice as one full complete unit when it comes to strength and condition periods.
Your childs program is based off of the age they will be this calendar year (2019) The following are your Coaches for the program:
Tyke (8-9 year old):
Mosquito (10-11 year olds):
PeeWee (12-13 year olds):
The program will run every Wednesday at 6:30pm-8:00pm and Saturdays 11:30am-1:00pm. The expected format will be to practice on Wednesday and play games on Saturday. We will expect to play games against each other, the Nepean Eagles, the Bell Warriors and other touch programs from around the city. There is also plans to have a large jamboree which will likely draw close to 300 kids including the Cumberland Panthers.
This flag program is also a great intro to our tackle programs in the fall. All of the coaches at each level are also representing each levels tackle program.
Stay tuned for exact start dates. We are awaiting the city to confirm the opening of fields. We expect that to happen in the next few weeks. Tentative start date for the program will be Wednesday May 1st.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly and I look forward to seeing each and every one of you on the field.
